What does 'single ingredient' actually mean?

It means exactly what it says. Each product contains one ingredient — the thing on the label. Chicken Strips contain chicken. Salmon Fillets contain salmon. No binders, no preservatives, no flavor enhancers, no fillers. Just the real thing, dehydrated.

Where do you source your ingredients?

We source from human-grade food suppliers — the same suppliers that supply restaurants and grocery stores. We don't use pet-grade or feed-grade ingredients. If we wouldn't eat it ourselves, it doesn't go in the bag.

Are your treats grain-free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every product is naturally grain-free because there's only one ingredient and none of them are grains. No wheat, no corn, no rice, no oats.

Are your treats suitable for pets with allergies?

Accepted Answer

Single-ingredient treats are often recommended for pets with food sensitivities because it's easy to identify and avoid triggers. That said, we're not vets — if your pet has a known allergy or medical condition, please check with your vet before introducing any new food.

Which treats are safe for cats?

Most of our range is suitable for both dogs and cats. Chicken Strips, Salmon Fillets, and Turkey Treats are all popular with cats. Sweet Potato Chews are best for dogs only — cats are obligate carnivores and don't need plant-based treats. Each product page notes which species it's suitable for.

How much should I give my pet?

Treats should make up no more than 10% of your pet's daily calorie intake. For most dogs, 2–4 strips per day is plenty. For cats, 1–2 small pieces. Our treats are nutrient-dense, so a little goes a long way. When in doubt, less is more.

Can puppies and kittens eat your treats?

We recommend waiting until your pet is at least 12 weeks old and fully weaned before introducing treats. For very young animals, break treats into small pieces to avoid any choking risk. Always supervise treat time.

How long do the treats last?

Unopened bags have a shelf life of 12 months from the production date, which is printed on the back of every bag. Once opened, we recommend using within 6–8 weeks and storing in a cool, dry place. You can also refrigerate opened bags to extend freshness.

Do I need to refrigerate them?

No refrigeration needed before opening — dehydration removes enough moisture to make the treats shelf-stable. After opening, refrigeration is optional but will extend freshness, especially in warm climates. Do not freeze.

Why do some treats look different between batches?

Accepted Answer

Because they're made from real food. Natural variation in color, size, and texture is completely normal and actually a sign that we're not using artificial dyes or standardizing agents. The ingredient is the same — nature just doesn't do uniform.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are packed and dispatched within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping takes 3–5 business days. We'll send you a tracking link as soon as your order is on its way.

What if my order arrives damaged?

That's on us. Take a photo of the damaged item and email us at hello@finnandcharlie.com within 7 days of delivery. We'll send a replacement or issue a full refund — your choice, no questions asked.

Can I change or cancel my order?

We pack orders quickly, so changes aren't always possible once an order is placed. Email us at hello@finnandcharlie.com as soon as possible and we'll do our best. If the order has already shipped, we can arrange a return once it arrives.
